"A little about me. I'm female nearly 52 years old and three years ago had two strokes. I was hospitalized, couldn't talk, walk (was in a wheelchair), swallow or remember anything. This devastated me. It took me two years with an amazing neurologist, nurses doctors ,speech and language and Physiotherapy, hard work. Yes, heartbroken, frustrated, in pain both physically and emotionally. I was retired from my job from Sheffield City Council after 18 years and labelled disabled. I never gave up my family and friends were amazing strength to me.

Through no exercise, stopping smoking, and medication I gained 2.5 stones I looked and felt awful an emotional wreck. I had to do something. I started to look for a personal trainer after 6 months I found R5. Ryan Dutton. I rang him and he came to see me at my house. Younger than my youngest son, but we clicked straight away what a friendly approachable, mature professional attitude this young man has. He made me feel at ease straight away. I told him my history and my weakness in my body, also about the brain damage. We spoke for ages and I knew straight away I wanted Ryan as my personal trainer.

I am not going to lie, the training is hard and exhausting but at the same time thrilling and achievable. The programme is individually suited to you. I've done exercises I've never done including Boxercise. Ryan is constantly on the other end of the phone if you need him. He's sorted me out a weekly diet for different days and explains all the food nutrition, good and bad carbs etc. Hes constantly encouraging, pushing and believes in me 100%. After only a couple of weeks I feel he knows me so well. When I'm training I bond with Ryan because he knows I need patience to digest information, sequencing and orders. But I'm making huge progress because to Ryan I'm not a disabled person with brain damage I'm a mature lady who wants to lose weight, get fit and live a longer healthier life. I don't hesitate to highly recommend Ryan and his company. Hes helping me change my life. Thank you Ryan!"

Kate England (Aarons Mum) - "I contacted Ryan in August 2015 out of desperation as my son (13) was suffering with an eating disorder and body dismorphia which as a result my son was compulsivley exercising to the point where hospital admission was on the cards.

After exhausting mental health services i decided to contact a personal trainer to see if a more practical approach would help. I contacted Ryan who responded saying he would love to help as he hadn't come across someone so young with these difficulties before.

Ryan has supported my son with nutrition as well as educating him as to how much exercise is appropriate for his age and stage and how he can develop his body without over exercising. Ryan helped by emailing exercises over to us and meal plans to support with nutrition. He has also offerd advice around sleep which has been useful.

Ryan has taken time to build a positive relationship with my son who now listens to him and trusts him intensley , he is not only a fantastic trainer but a positive male role model. Since training with Ryan my son has cut down dramatically on his exercise and changed his diet which is no longer detrimental to his health. 

I honestly dont know where we would be without his help.

Ryan's knowledge is incredible! After giving birth to my son and 4 months of trying by myself to get back to being 'me' I needed help badly and I was clearly doing it all wrong.

Only 3 weeks into training with Ryan and I'm already feeling and seeing a difference in my weight, fitness levels, confidence and health. Ryan is a massive support, he pushes you to your levels but every session is different and fun!!

 

He never pushes you too far. I would recommend Ryan to anyone, his knowledge and experience is obvious and he is there to support you 24/7 in whatever journey you want to take in fitness and health. I have never been so determined to get to my desired fitness level and weight as I am right now with Ryan.

I have a hearing impairment with my first language being British Sign Language. This I thought was going to be a big challenge with my personal trainer who didn’t know BSL.

But I’ve been training with Ryan for 8 months and my life changed forever when I joined R5 Fitness. Every time he makes my life better with his incredible knowledge about fitness. I love how he made me positive and motivates a person. He pushed me so hard. I love new challenges and every session I did something I had never done before and it showed me that I can do it. Ryan not knowing BSL was never a barrier between us in the training sessions. He explained to me by writing things down and demonstrating.

I can’t imagine how I made it so far, I became stronger and he taught me diet is pretty big, so eat well. This is where I really struggled. I was addicted to ’M&M’ chocolates everyday, eating pizza every week and too many carbs. Many many years of my mistakes, I was trying to get rid of my Belly fat but I had been doing the wrong thing my whole life when I used too much cardio but I never happen to lose belly fat.

I remember when I looked at myself in the mirror, I was ashamed and my self esteem was low with my body. My clothes became tighter and I would buy some tops ‘L’ size loose clothes to make me stop looking fat. Now I couldn't have been happier because I was totally shocked after 3 months I saw my results that changed my life and I cannot believe it. It made me realise that I was never going back and I’d keep going on for this was the beginning.

In my whole life I have never cooked myself. This is the first time in my life when I started to gain nutritional knowledge and learned how to cook chicken, fish and vegetables. I loved every minute, because I always thought I didn’t have time for cooking but I was wrong. It was all about mental strength, and making yourself less lazy.

I made one of the best decisions of my life when I joined R5 Fitness because I've been through hard times and lost a lot of self-confidence. Exercising has made me stress free. So now I found myself gaining confidence again.

I can’t thank Ryan enough, he has changed my life and I can’t imagine how I would be without his help. I’m really grateful for what Ryan has taught me.
